Dr Maheswaran is a highly committed General Practitioner with a strong focus on holistic family medicine and women’s health. Australian-born and of Sri Lankan heritage, she brings together clinical excellence with a compassionate, patient-centred approach. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful — to view each patient’s health and wellbeing through a truly comprehensive lens, addressing not just symptoms, but the whole person.
A Strong Academic & Clinical Foundation
Dr Maheswaran’s medical journey is built upon a robust academic and clinical background. She began her career with a Bachelor of Pharmacy, before completing her postgraduate medical qualification and earning a Doctor of Medicine. Her early professional years were spent working across major tertiary hospitals throughout New South Wales. During this time, she gained extensive experience in both public and private healthcare settings, particularly within acute care environments. This broad exposure has equipped her with the clinical depth and confidence to manage complex health conditions while maintaining a calm, supportive presence for her patients.

Motherhood marked a pivotal chapter in Dr Maheswaran’s professional evolution. This personal experience deepened her understanding of the powerful connection between a woman’s physical wellbeing and her inner confidence.
Through both clinical practice and lived experience, she recognised how even subtle physical changes can impact self-identity and self-esteem. This insight sparked a renewed professional passion in Aesthetic Medicine, where she aims to support patients in feeling confident and comfortable in their own skin.
Dr Maheswaran is currently pursuing a Fellowship with the Australian College of Aesthetic Medicine and has completed advanced training with the internationally renowned Derma Medical.
