Standard Consultation
1 or 2 simple issues or a quick procedure such as a throat swab
Long Consultation
2 – 3 Simple issues or one complex or procedure or full check-up
Extended Consultation
2 – 3 Complex issues or a complex procedure
We request that you limit each consultation to one health issue and if you feel that you need more than 15 minutes with your doctor, please request a longer consultation for complex or multiple medical issues, comprehensive annual check-ups and GP management or mental health care plans. If you are unsure whether a long appointment is required, please ask one of our friendly receptionists.
Fees
Familywise Medical Practice is a bulk billing practice. Overseas/Non-medicare cardholders will incur private fees.
Making Payments
Payment is required on the day of the consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card (excluding Diners). All workers compensation and motor vehicle accident patients are required to pay their accounts at the time of consultation until a letter of liability is produced from their insurance company.
Home Visits
Depending on circumstances and considering the safety of all, nursing home and home visits may be provided to existing patients of the practice only. Visits must take place during clinic hours and are at the discretion of the individual GP. An initial telephone consultation will take place to assess whether a home visit is needed. These visits will be privately charged. Please call the practice early to discuss. Home visit needs to be in the area 5km of the practice.
Waiting Time
Sometimes GPs can be delayed due to urgent or complex issues with patients. We apologies if you are asked to wait and thank you for your patience.
Cancellation
If you are unable to attend an appointment, please contact us to cancel or change your time as a fee may be charged for failure to attend with less than 4 hours notice (not claimable through Medicare).
