Dr. Harsika Nagahawatte

Dr. Harsika Nagahawatte obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2021, she has also completed an International Post-Graduate Paediatric Certificate (Diploma Child Health) and has a special interest in women’s health, including minor procedures such as implanon and the general well-being of the whole family.

She believes holistic care is essential to great medicine and that the doctor-patient relationship is a partnership and so encourages her patients to be educated and powerful in their own health needs.

Dr Mariam is a dedicated General Practitioner with broad experience across hospital and community settings with a strong hospital background across paediatrics, women’s health, emergency medicine, surgery, and geriatrics.

Having trained at Blacktown, Fremantle, Fiona Stanley, and St John of God Murdoch Hospitals, Dr Mariam brings broad expertise and a compassionate, patient-centred approach to general practice.

Special interests: Paediatrics, women’s health, emergency medicine, and chronic disease management.

Outside of medicine, Dr Mariam enjoys bush walking and cooking.

Dr Bavithra Maheswaran is a highly dedicated General Practitioner with a strong commitment to holistic family medicine and women’s health. Australian-born and of Sri Lankan heritage, she brings together clinical excellence and a compassionate, patient-centred philosophy, viewing health and wellbeing through a truly comprehensive lens.
 
Dr Maheswaran’s medical career is underpinned by a robust academic and clinical foundation. She began with a Bachelor of Pharmacy before completing her postgraduate medical qualification, earning a Doctor of Medicine. Her early professional years were spent working across major tertiary hospitals in New South Wales, where she developed extensive experience in both public and private healthcare settings, particularly within acute care environments.
As a General Practitioner, Dr Maheswaran’s clinical interests centre on Longevity Medicine and Preventative Health. She is deeply passionate about chronic disease management and the core principles of sustainable, long-term wellness, with a focus on helping patients not only age well, but maintain vitality and quality of life.
 
Motherhood marked a pivotal chapter in the evolution of her practice. This deeply personal experience enhanced her insight into the intrinsic link between a woman’s physical wellbeing and her inner confidence. Witnessing how even subtle physical changes can influence self-identity and self-esteem, Dr Maheswaran discovered a renewed professional passion in Aesthetic Medicine. She is currently pursuing a Fellowship with the Australian College of Aesthetic Medicine and has completed advanced training with the world-renowned Derma Medical.
